2026 – Annual Big Scenario Training Night

Over 65 responders from eight CFR groups came together in the beautiful grounds of Rathmichael Church on Thursday evening as Shankill & Ballybrack CFR hosted our annual Big Scenario Training night. This event was run alongside the National Ambulance Service and the Irish Coast Guard.

Responders rotated in groups through training workstations covering the wide range of situations they may meet as active responders — chest pain, stroke, drowning-related cardiac arrest, trauma, haemorrhage, and a Garda-led exercise on risk assessment and scene safety that challenged every responder on the night.

This annual exercise provides a chance for CFRs to hone their skills and engage in collaborative training and teamwork. This is key to building successful outcomes in the field. We’re very grateful for the support and expertise provided by members of the National Ambulance Service, the Irish Coast Guard and An Garda Síochána. 

We also sincerely thank Fiona Ashe and Rev. Sean Hanily at Rathmichael Church for being so accommodating in providing use of their facilities and grounds for the evening.
